Buy Nothing Day Again!

It's here again! Take a small stand against the crazy consumerism and buy nothing on Black Friday. It's a headache waiting to happen plus it just feeds all the greed and discontent lurking around our hearts. My yearly tradition is to make my Christmas cards on that day. A choice to produce rather than consume. A quiet day filled with thoughts of those that are far away that will receive my cards. I turn on Christmas music...stay in comfy lounge pants...ahhhhh!

Hooray! I'll join you! We'll be all snuggled in cozy with our extended family enjoying good fellowship, games, and something hot & yummy to drink. I am so looking forward to it! No shopping for me when there's such fun family to be with. :)

Also...Thanks, Aimee, for your kind comments on my blog... they mean so much. I'm a follower of yours, too, just never been public until now! : )

We participated in Buy Nothing Day last year and it felt SOOO good! I am all in again this year! Black Friday will do just fine without me, I am sure! LOL

Excellent. I am really loving the mention of comfy /lounging pants. I wore comfy loose linen pants this week and I felt really nice.

I am with you on this 100%!!!

I love the idea of intentionally making something on that day! Time to find something new to embroider!

I plan to observe this again this year. It is much more relaxing and I might get some projects done.

What a great idea! It is such a rat race and I end up with things I don't need. Not to mention all the stress of parking, traffic, and waiting in line. No thanks!

I love what you said about making Christmas cards: "A choice to produce rather than consume."

I've never gone out on Black Friday, so it'll be easy to participate. We'll be hosting extended family that day, sleeping in, eating a yummy breakfast, sipping coffee...a vacation day filled with relationships.
